CAMANDA COMMUNITY STANDARDS
For Instructors and Learners
Camanda Technologies

At Camanda Academy, our mission is to democratize tech, digital, and business skills for everyone, everywhere – providing affordable and accessible tech education. All our classes are offered by independent instructors (also known as Subject Matter Experts), who determine the content and format of their own classes in partnership with our team of course developers.
We have an open community of learners, instructors and the Camanda team. While our open community is our greatest source of strength, it also brings challenges. It is important to us that Camanda is a safe space for our users. Our members should treat each other without bias or prejudice across all pillars of diversity including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, and gender identity. Here are some guidelines that we ask our members to observe. Camanda members (learners or instructors alike) who do not keep to these guidelines will be restricted or removed from our community.
Expertise
Offer classes only where you have appropriate background or expertise.
Professionalism
Instructors should maintain a professional approach during all interactions with learners.
Adhere to our class content policy by only offering secular and objective classes.
Preparation
You must be adequately prepared for each class session, with slides and other materials for presentation.
Respect
Create a safe and welcoming space for learners from all backgrounds, beliefs, and locations and respect learners’ learning styles.
Timelines
Begin and end classes on time, respecting learners’ schedules.
Feedback
Provide constructive feedback and support to learners.
Respond promptly to learner’s questions.
Familiarize yourself with our LMS and ensure smooth operation during live classes.
Ensure backup internet and necessary equipment (such as laptops etc) are available to minimize disruptions during live classes.
Be prepared to troubleshoot minor technical issues independently, or promptly seek technical support when needed.
Communication
Use clear and respectful communication in all interactions.
Keep all communications on our platform; never provide personal contact information to learners for “off-platform” communications, or in-person meetings (prohibited unless a Camanda-sponsored event).
Promptly notify learners in case of technical difficulties that may affect the class schedule and communicate alternate arrangements.
Learner Code of Conduct
Respect
Treat instructors and fellow learners with respect and courtesy. Help other learners feel welcomed and included.
Attendance
Attend classes regularly. Do not miss more than three live sessions, in the case of live classes. In case of unavoidable or unforeseen circumstances, notify our team of your absence from a class.
Participation
Actively participate in class activities and discussions, assignments and projects.
Technology Use
Follow guidelines for our LMS, ensuring minimal disruption.
Feedback
Provide constructive feedback to enable us to improve your learning experience.
Security
Keep your personal information and sensitive data private.
Camanda Code of Conduct
We welcome users from all backgrounds, beliefs, and locations and are committed to creating a safe space for our users across all pillars of diversity.
We will listen to feedback from learners and instructors, and make changes accordingly. We will respond promptly to questions and issues that arise.
We will create and enforce policies to create a high-quality, trusted, and safe community for learning. This may include removing content or users from the platform/community.
Finally, we ask that all members assume the best intentions in others. When something goes wrong, whether it’s a technical glitch, an email without a response, or something else, we ask that you share feedback in a constructive way.
